Join Angelina Stanford, for a week-long study of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, The Taming of the Shrew!
The Taming of the Shew. Is it a misogynistic rant by a Dead White Guy? Is it an appropriate reassertion of patriarchy and rigid gender roles? Is it none of the above?
Spend a week closely reading one of Shakespeare’s most puzzling and hotly-debated plays. Learn about the Renaissance worldview, the Renaissance understanding of Hierarchy, how to read any Shakespeare comedy, why the form is the key to understanding this play, and much more.
